Chapter 2 – Yowah
Written by Me
- Some- how we all ended up in a place called Yowah in the middle of the desert during the month of July and that led to all sorts of mysteries, shenanigans and adventure. No word of a lie.
- We both fell in love with the world’s most interestingly beautiful & unique gemstone. At this moment our future changed forever and would now always include Opals. We learned as much as we could about this glorious gemstone. We would spend hours simply gazing into the dazzling core of the stones brilliance and dreaming about them, we were mesmerized by the colors. We became infatuated with Opals and decided to purchase as many as we thought we could afford. Our idea was to try to sell Opal to other travelers that we met along our journey. I wanted to market this gorgeous gemstone back in Melbourne. I couldn’t understand why this authentic gem wasn’t more popular. With its blazing array of colours, some green, some blue, some red just to name a few and some were a fine mix of all, weaving their luminous colour through a bed of sand-stone, creating patterns to tell a story of another universe or the famous Yowah picture stone displaying an aboriginal landscape, unimagined works of art or scenes of what could possibly be a bygone era. These Gems are addictive!
